The Disorder...(3)

How does entropy affect time?

Imagine we wanted to extract all the potential energy from 0.5 grams of glucose. One way would be burn the glucose with fire. Another approach would be to eat it and let the cells of our body slowly burn it and store some of it into ATP, and the rest released as heat.

It's the same reaction, but the time it takes to completion is very different. This is how entropy affects time and the pathway of a reaction.

But... Imagine we apply a meta-analysis from outside of the world into reactions. If we consider the world as a total system, will entropy, energy, reactions and time have the same meanings?
