Most of us know that proteins are vital and help our body stay in shape and work smoothly. Without proteins, the body can't survive because it will be disabled from performing the required reactions on time.
Although proteins do a lot for our body, excessive amounts of proteins result in trouble. One of the most harmful results caused by excessive protein aggregation, is that the excess protein can disrupt bodily functions and creates disorders. One of these disorders is the Alzheimer's Disease (AD) which caused because of protein accumulation in several areas of the brain, both inside and outside of the cells.
AD is a complex disorder with genetic basis, and non- genetic factors outside the body, which we call environmental factors, can promote or prevent the disease. In this disorder, proteins accumulate inside the brain cells and in between. This causes the cells to die or restrains them from communicating well with other brain cells. Brain cells, if restrained from communicating with the adjacent cells, will lose their connection with other cells. When this happens, the crisis emerges, Alzheimer's Disease.
