Our first piece of advice is to never tell anyone, that does not have to know, how much money you make. Not your parents, fiance, girlfriend, boyfriend, best friends, etc. Guide conversations away from the question being raised. This might not seem like a big deal but it is. They may start thinking of ways to spend your money for you, subconsciously or even consciously. They may not know all of your expenses or your financial situation, but that will not stop them from making assumptions and expectations towards you. All of this may happen if you tell them what you earn without you even knowing it.
