Several experiments show that although solid materials don't readily change shape, there are non-visible constituents inside them which interact and move around. In fact, it's thought that they shake in their places and push or pull the adjacent particle(s).
Imagine a new generation of microscopes that could enable us to see the particles and their interactions inside a solid bar of Iron (Fe). We would see the iron ingot has no movement but we know it's not true about the particles inside. The same is true about anything consisted of smaller constituents and particles. What if we apply a meta-analysis like this to our current world?!
